How we verify what we publish

Methodology

Who reviews this site

Customs Broker Sim content is reviewed by Customs Broker Sim editorial team before publication. Review means checking every fact against a primary source, not adding an unverified opinion. We do not claim Customs Broker Sim editorial team holds a customs broker license, a CBP credential, or any industry certification. The authority this page stands on is the verification process below, not a credential.

How data is sourced and maintained

The Customs Broker License Examination (CBLE) is a single national exam administered by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), so there is one primary source rather than fifty state boards. Exam format facts, question-count breakdowns, published pass rates, and the reference editions each paper required are transcribed from CBP's own published documents: the public exam papers and answer keys on CBP's Past Examinations page, and CBP's License Examination Notice page. Each figure is cited to the exact document it came from, with the date we checked it.

We do not reprint a third party's compiled table, and we do not republish exam questions. The category matrices on this site are counts transcribed from the category table printed at the front of each public CBP paper, so they are official figures rather than a classification we performed.

Every page carries an updated date, and this site's freshness policy re-verifies published facts every 90 days. A page that falls out of that window is queued for re-verification, not left to go stale.

The statistics page is this site's own original data study: every figure on it is computed at build time from the verified CBLE administration dataset, never hand-typed.

What we will not do

Where CBP does not publish a figure, we say so instead of estimating one. CBP currently posts pass rates only for the three most recent administrations, so older administrations appear on this site as not published rather than as a guess or a blank. We also do not publish a projected pass rate, a predicted question mix for a future exam, or a claim that any study method produces a particular score.

Last full verification

The newest verified fact on this site is dated . This date is computed from the site's own content, not hardcoded, and moves automatically as pages get re-verified.
